Hi all,

Maybe not the right section, but I think this pic almost looks like a real ghost pic.

It is the picture of a Brocken ghost.

No, this isn't matrixing/pareidolia!

Zakopane, Poland, 7. Oktober 2010

This is the photo of a so-called "Brocken ghost", taken in the Polish part of the Tatra mountains. On this occasion, it shows a rare optical phenomenon, where an observer can see his own shade on a nebulous cloud beneath himself. Besides, the head is often wrapped in coloured light. A lot of moutaineers believe in the superstitious ledgend that people, who see a "Brocken ghost" will die in the mountains.

Not a real paranormal pic, but certainly a remarkable one... and it's not photoshopped.
Thanks to Kathi from TPF Berlin for digging it out Wink

You are right there Kathi , i think that this picture is quite unique and you could probably not take the same picture again if you tried .

Great pic Arwen,

That's only the second time I've seen a photo of a brocken spectre. If you didn't know what that was and you saw it on a lonely moor or mountain
it's quite understandable that you'd think it was something supernatural and I'm sure in the past - I'm thinking Big Grey Man of Ben McDhui - it has
been responsible for many stories of mountain spectres.

Absolutely, Occam.

Maybe some of the sightings of Bigfoot and the Yeti are related with this sort of shadow, too. Now, I am not into this sort of myths, but I think I recall a few reports of sightings of a huge shadow in the fog/mist, It would sound plausible, don't you think?

Yeti perhaps but Bigfoot..I'm not so sure. All stories/sightings are exactly that - stories. We choose to believe, doubt or disbelieve them based on a range of factors - most of them drawn from a rich cultural and social heritage. Please call me Phil or Monkey Very Happy
