Watched this recently and again its pretty good, its abit like Paranormal Activity, it was made shortly after to capitalize off Paranormal Activity.
It's "apparently" actual footage of the supernatural events leading to the 2008 "murder" of Samantha Finley. Released against the wishes of the authorities, this DVD proves that nothing human caused Samantha's death and therefore the suicide of his mother and the arrest and suicide of his brother.
Here's the Trailer
Still a good movie, pretty scary and makes you jump.

Is it just a cheaper rip-off, though? I mean I know PA didn't have a huge amount of money in it, but there was some. That trailer looks more.. student film.

No production wise its pretty much the same, hand held camera in a house.

Haha, that looks terrible!
If you want to be scared, avoid watching films shot over a week with nightvision and a cast that don't have the knack to convince the viewer that what they are seeing is real. Not to mention a production crew who are obviously quite uninspired other than by the idea that they too can make something with little or no money at all and become a cult sensation by playing the 'Apparently it's real footage!!' card. Seriously, anybody with half a brain could make a film like this, its like colouring in with crayons!
So yeah, if you want to be scared, sleep in a church with no power in the middle of nowhere, that's my advice!

Robb

Yeh we still get scared but not to the point of running away or becoming catatonic with fear!
It affects us all in different ways. I think I experienced true fear and terror in my younger years and so I can't say that I have been more scared than that during one of our events or investigations yet!

@Matt
You are right about paranormal activity it was an extremly cheap film to make , but look at Blair witch project that was a cheap film but that had a lasting effect on the viewers as did paranormal activity, meaning cheap i meant that paranormal enitity trailer just looks badly made .

My scariest experience still has to be coming within 50 yards with a real lion. I still can't believe they have wild Lions in High Wycombe!!

My sentiments also. I think there's a big difference between low budget and cheap, and I guess a huge amount would lie with the strength of the actors. I loved Blair Witch Project for years, but haven't seen the actors in much else since - am hoping that won't be the case for the couple from PA as I'd like to see them do more.

Paranormal Entity/ Paranormal Activity
Kind of reminds me of those really cheap trainers that copy the design and logo of a leading brand, just slightly different. (Then some poor lad get's bought them because they only cost a fiver, only to get his head kicked in the next day for not being able to afford the real deal.)
Just the fact alone that the 'creative' force behind PE couldn't actually think of a real alternative title to the original film should be warning enough that you would be wasting your life watching it.
Actors definately do have a massive influence on the end quality of a film, but the story and the way it is told should always be more important than the acting or actors. From what can be seen from the trailer, that film has neither. Yet I suspect it will still be very popular because its target audience is a generation of dumbed down adolescences with a desperate need for an excited scream or shout to pearce through their increasingly mundane, emotionally numb shroud of virtual, sold out existence.
Daily rant over,
Thanks,
Robb
