Hi,

I use an Olympus vn-3100pc dictaphone and so does Ian, I'm not sure about everyone else but the Olympus models seem to do the trick for me.

Here is a very similar model to mine for under Ģ20:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Olympus-VN-2100PC-Digital-Dictaphone-Voice-Recorder_W0QQitemZ120376759507QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_AudioVisualElectronics_PortableAudio_DictaphonesDictationMachines?hash=item120376759507&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1300|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

You will not find much difference in the quality or quantity of your results between using a decent yet cheap dicataphone (such as the one suggested) and a state of the art Ģ100+ model, as long as they are built by reputable sound engineering companies such as Olympus, Pannasonic or Sony.

Don't buy from lesser known manufacturers who sell cheap, because the technology inside is no where near as advanced as what you will find in even the most basic models of the better known.

Regards,

Robb

Hi,

Yes, the sound files are all digital, so you would need software to allow you to access the sound files that are stored on the dictaphone and store them on your PC. It would come with a CD which you would simply put into your CD/DVD drive and then follow the setup installation in windows, its very straight forward and user friendly. When this has finished you just plug your dicataphone into your PC (using the USB lead that would come with it) and you will automatically be able to access the files!

Hope that makes sense!

If you ever have any problems please just ask and I will sort them out!

Regards,

Robb

Hi

I use an Olympus VN-2000PC. The Olympus ones are great but make sure its one that connects to a computer as some of them don't. The ones that do have A model number that ends with PC.

The best advice I can give to anyone trying to record EVP's is to listen really, really carefully using headphones as the voices are usually very faint indeed.

If you get something, please post it here so we can hear it!

Good luck.

You will be suprised the first ever EVP i did , i did it on a Sony ericsson K750i and it turned out pretty good , but i agree that the olympus dictaphones are about the best at the moment , they have excellent quality .
