Hi All
I have been sent an image from some of our friends in Germany who run the Paranormale forschungsgruppe Niederrein .
On Saturday the 5th of February 2011, the "Paranormale Forschungsgruppe Niederrhein" (Paranormal Research Team Niederrhein)/Germany conducted an investigation in a Kasemate (which is the term used for an underground tunnel system or underground fortification) in the Kleve area. They have been requested to keep the location undisclosed for the time being. The pictures were taken in one of the tunnels. where they had set up two cameras, pointing in the direction of the exit where the photos were later taken. One after the other they left the tunnel and climbed up the stairs to the exit. Gabi stayed behind and took three more pictures. There was nobody else in the tunnel, other than Gabi at the time of the photo being taken After they left the tunnel, they stayed upstairs for approx. 12 minutes, then we went back down to pack away thier equipment, at the time of these pictures being taken there were no Infrared cameras in use.
I have personaly talked to the Tech manager of this group and he has explained the circumstances to me , if any one has any questions dont hesitate to contact Gabi or michael
I must say that i think that this is an excellent catch , well done to Gabi's team for catching this .

Sweet Robb's stumped too
Michael, we and many others are eagerly waiting for any video evidence you can provide.. Even if it shows nothing, we are still left with this very nice picture.
Video supporting the picture is a good device in order for us to examine the entire situation.
I so hope you've caught it on video too... that would be incredible.
don't you just love making history???

See, first thoughts 'amazing photo' but then my rational side kicks in and then I think;
Doesn't it look like the shadow of a peron
The way it's positioned, looks like the shadow has it's arms bent up, like it's taking a photo. Light in a tunnel bounces about like a hyper kid.
I would be tempted to go back and recreate the situation, see if it is actually the shadow of the photographer.

Here is the video from the night and look at it from another angle. It is the last three flashes that we are interested in as this is when the shadow appeared in the pictures taken;

Hi Jojo,
Yeah it does look like the shadow of a person, the problem is there is no way- as far as I can tell from the picture and other info- that a shadow of those proportions could be projected on to that wall at that distance. For a person to cast that exact shadow in these circumstances, they would pretty much have to be stood directly in front of the shadow (at a direct angle to the camera and flash) and probably within 10-50cm from the wall.
For the same reason this also rules out the idea that another flash from behind could project the photographers shadow onto the wall- the proportions are completely out and the flash from the camera in front would simply 'fill in' the gaps of light.
The flash from the camera is so bright that any other light source would not compete with it. It's virtually impossible for a shadow to be in the path of the flash without something solid in the space between the camera and the wall. This also rules out the shadow from being cast from any other angle (such as from down a corridor adjacent to the shadow.
The only possibilities I can think of...
The picture is a hoax The shadow is due to some unknown technical fault The shadow isn't a shadow, but something that absorbs light, rather then reflecting it.

Ive spent 3 hours on this image so far and its starting to get interesting
Im starting to get detail now (is still faint), in the clothes, and figure.. Ive found a face, so will start working on that next.
Would love to know what the german crew were wearing, just to rule that out.. but the clothes dont look that modern. lol.
so i am eagerly waiting for the result.

Now, that is interesting!
Although I think that the facial features are due to matrixing. The hood certainly isn't, because it has distinct outlines over the face. the way it looks to me is, that the head is slightly turned. I don't think that the figure is a monk!
Look at this:
Helmet German soldier WW1
Helmet German soldier WW2
Coat German soldier WW1+2
Prussian officer's coat and Husar's uniform (couldn't find a more detailed image)
I also remember having seen a WW1 or 2 soldier's coat with shoulder cape, I just can't find a picture of it.
I really doubt that the figure is a monk. The location is a casemate and was always used for military purposes only. The Prussian and Gerrman army had their priests and vicars, but I am quite certain, that they didn't employ monks.

Yes ive got to agree with arwen,, i mean the first time i saw that enlarged photo i did see that helmet shape first, i know i joked saying Darth vader but now looking at the pics that youve posted arwen it looks even clearer and ive also seen old war pics with a robe that would look similar too, very interesting.

would you have said that you see a helmet if Arwen hadn't have mentioned it before , this is not meant to be negative but it looks to me as though this could be a case of paradolia , in my opinion this is just a photo that wil have to remain unexplained .
