| Cases of excorcism have risen in the last 20 years according to officials of the Vatican , they blame the growing interest in Demonology and satanism.
Preperations have been under way since the appointment of the last pope Benedict to organise so called "excorsist squads", the plan is that every Bishop will have a number of trained excorsists to combat the rise in cases that have been reported.
Its quite funny how the meaning of the word demon has changed over the last 2000 years , to the ancient greeks the word meant guardian angel , a good natured, good willed spirit that would watch over people, now the when people refer to a demon they are refering to something that is malicious, non human, and can cause havoc with not only the human body but also the mind.
Figures say that there have been over 400 excorsisms in the last 20 years just in Italy , the amount of the excorsists have doubled in Poland in the last five years.

| Oh my...
... let's just hope, that they take psychology in account now, like schizophrenia for example. And also that people just might be psychic.
I am just waiting for the first report of death due to exorcism.
May God help those poor people with their unlimited trust in their church.
Pope Ratzinger is really going back to the roots, I think, but by reviving exorcisms I doubt that this is a form of progress.
Again I am more than glad, that I don't belong to any church. | |
