| these are interesting Steve...
In the first one I can hear what sounds like a squeak or something. In the second there is clearly another voice but hard to distinguish. Maybe John can have a go at filtering it out to make it clearer.
Thanks for these Steve. |

| I've had a listen to both files, filtered normalised the sounds etc in the studio,
The first one there is a definate squeak there (VSP?)
the 2nd one to be honest it sounds like a reflection amongst the words "do it like this" which has been caused by the plosive of the word or it could be the room reacting to the frequency of one of the words causing the reflection, either way I think its Steve's voice. |

| The acoustics in that apartement are quite weird.... for example the master bed room, where the sound is reflected in nearly all areas, except of the left corner next to the bed... it is almost as if it is cut off of the rest of the room.
Steve, you checked the sound reflection in the location... did you notice any other significant differences in the "echo" in the place?
Where was the second EVP taken? Was it in the child's room? (that room had a weird feeling to me, like the lounge) | |

| The 'reflected' voice don't make much sense to me.. i understand the possibility, but if it occured once, then it should have done it again seeing as the acoustics of the place were a bit off. The main bedroom was the worst with a dead spot in the far corner.. the rest of that room felt like an echo chamber. The kids room was pretty good.. very little echo.. that is where the 'reflected' voice was recorded. same with the 'toy' voice.. both in the kids bedroom. The living room was roughly the same in sound as the kids room except for the size of the rooms themselves. It's a shame I decided to talk at the time of that recording | |

| the reflection doesn't have to sound like an echo it could simply be a response to the frequency of the tone or the plosive created by the voice (T,P,K,B sounds) from what I heard of the recording there is a definite "room sound" going on. It could be where you were positioned in the room and the frequency of your tone could have caused something in the room to vibrate or reflect. |

| oh i see.. If I remember correctly at the time, i was kneeling down in front of a pile of soft toys. But i might have been sitting on the bed opposite them although I know i was facing them most of the time that we were talking about the toys. Thanks for the info on that though.. new to me | |

| Thanks Steve , I'm a bit of a geek when it it comes to sound and I spend all day explaining it in school lol, so its easy sometimes to get carried away. After studying it I find sound a fascinating area and can do all sorts of strange and wonderful things. I have a few acoustic guitars in my living room (not all mine) and there has been times when we've been practisicing with different instruments and whatever, and certain sounds (or frequencies) from instruments played has reacted with an acoustic guitar resting on the side or on the wall, and actually caused the guitar string to sound like its been played (or plucked) with a plectrum which has made us jump a couple of times particulary when were not playing very loud. |
