| Berry Pomeroy castle is located in the nice little town of Totnes in Devon. The origins of the hauntings that take place there are still unknown, the castle was built by the family Pommeroy during the 12th century, the family lived there until 1547 when it was then sold to Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset and the lord protector. The story of Lady Margaret Pomeroys death is well known in the area , she had a sister Eleanor , people said that Margaret was more beautiful than her sister , but as they say love should be deeper tha look´s , the problem was they both loved the same man , Eleanor thought that he would love Margaret over her, so in a jealous rage she locked Margaret in the dungoens and left her to starve to death, where she spent days wishing the end would come but she died a terrible death . It is said that she still walks the ruins and it is said that she leaves a lasting feeling of hate and fear on those who have seen her , it´s even been said that some have seen her and have died . So if you visit the castle it may be better not to look for the white lady. | |
