| these lists come from the paranormal database. just thought this might interest you with the amount of hauntings in the area will explain what boggarts are elsewhere and all around the blackpool area Headless Lady Location: Freckleton - Road leading to Kirkham Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Unknown Further Comments: Murdered along the road, this decapitated woman drifts along the area where she died. Skeletal Woman Location: Garstang - Bridge Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Unknown Further Comments: Murdered on the bridge, this ghoul now extracts revenge by standing by the roadside with a hood covering her face - when approached, she reveals the white skull that is now her face.
Noises Location: Garstang - Nateby Hall (no longer standing) Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Mid twentieth century Further Comments: The room above the kitchen area was said to be haunted, but little information is available to identify the entity further.
White Lady Location: Great Eccleston - Cross House Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Unknown Further Comments: This pale woman was seen several times in the house.
Big Cat Location: Hambleton - Sower Carr Lane Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Unknown Further Comments: Invisible, large and friendly, this ghost cat would freak people out as it rubbed itself on their legs, trying to show affection.
Stable Lad Location: Kirkham - Bell and Bottle public house Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: 1960s / 1970s? Further Comments: Trampled to death in the stable many years ago, this shade was said to have put in an occasional appearance after the building was converted into a restaurant. |

George's Severed Head Location: Kirkham - Mowbreak Hall Type: Crisis Manifestation Date / Time: Mid twentieth century Further Comments: George's severed, bloody head first appeared in 1583, when it appeared to his father - George had just been arrested in London, and was executed shortly after. Though the head is no longer considered to be a warning of impeding doom, it did make periodic appearances, sometimes accompanied by the sounds of cries, groaning and footfalls. | |

White Lady Location: Lytham - Lytham Hall Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Unknown Further Comments: One of several ghosts to be found in the hall, this unknown Clifton family member has been seen in various parts of the grounds. One particular bedroom is said to be particularly haunted, the manifestation complete with clanking chains and stomping feet. |

Beast of Lytham Location: Lytham St Anne - Green Drive area Type: ABC Date / Time: April / May 2005 Further Comments: Described as being the size of a collie dog, light in colour with large ears and a huge mouth, this large cat was spotted by more than twenty people over the period of a few weeks. | The Hall Knocker Location: Poulton le Fylde - Stalmine Type: Fairy Date / Time: Unknown Further Comments: This entity, now dismissed and contained under a stone in the local church, would help out the local farmers with the more boring tasks. |

Army Cat Location: Preesall - Lane (no longer exists) Type: Other Date / Time: Unknown Further Comments: This strange entity reportedly took the form of a cat which wore a red military uniform.
this one really interests me as i suspect its a boggart.
Black Hound Location: Singleton - Unknown cottage Type: Shuck Date / Time: Unknown Further Comments: A priest had to be called in to rid a building of a large black dog that had taken up residence - the creature was banished to under the river Wyre, allowed only to come back when the river dried up.
Mrs Eastham Location: St Annes - Fields connecting Church Road with Heyhouses Lane Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Late nineteenth or early twentieth century Further Comments: Eastham's ghost was seen by a local man taking a shortcut, a couple of days after her death at a nearby farmhouse. It was seen again a short time later by another farmer, and again by a farmhand who reported her staring into his bedroom window. |

Sir Ralph Longworth Location: St Michaels on Wyre - Old Hall (no longer standing) Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Nineteenth century Further Comments: Dressed in his officer's uniform, this former commander was reluctant to give up his house even after death; he would bang and crash around the building, and materialise outside the front door. He was finally exorcised. |

Sheet Stealer Location: Thornton - Unknown house along Windsor Avenue Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: 1971 Further Comments: A local councillor agreed to spend the night in the house after those living there reported a phantom figure which would remove bedcovers from a toddler's bed. |

The couple living in the building finally moved out, on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
