Traniee Investigator - investigations Empty
PostSubject: Traniee Investigator - investigations   Traniee Investigator - investigations EmptyMon Aug 04, 2008 6:56 pm

Firstly, new trainee investigators welcome to the team and I hope you enjoy the training you will receive with us. Our aim is to help you understand the different equipment we use, and how to assess the results you gather when doing an investigation. The aim of G.P.S is to find proof of the paranormal through scientific and technological means. When you join up as a trainee there will be a email address set up and forms you need to fill in and sign before your first investigation will be sent there.

Below is a list of links for you to look at about the equipment we use on an investigation. To start with a voice recorder, camera (can be digital, with as high a mega pixel as possible) and a torch are a basic requirement. More equipment can be added as you progress. Each member's kit is different according to their speciality.

Firstly as a trainee we require you to attend at least 2 training sessions before you will be considered for full investigator status. Training length is tailored to each individual's ability to learn the ropes and become fully conversant with the equipment and process of an investigation. There is also a small amount of paperwork that must be completed to ensure that we are able to back up evidence and show the position of persons present at all times. This also speeds up checking of the recordings (voice and visual) and photographs.

We do expect you to turn up to the trainee investigations; the whole team might be attending or just a few members. We will aim to use your own equipment, and demonstrate to you the types of equipment used in investigations. Importantly we are a team and rely on each other to turn up to investigations, to bring fully charged equipment, and plenty of batteries (lots and lots of batteries is essential).
You need be aware that prior to and during an investigation your senses must remain clear at all times. Some locations may need you to have good awareness of the surroundings. As such we require all investigators, training or otherwise to be are sober and drug free (prescribed medication exempted) throughout investigations. You need to have footwear that gives you good grip as on investigations the footing can be slippery. We also ask you wear dark clothes with minimal of reflective items, also a lot of pockets and back pack are also advisable. The integrity and good reputation of the G.P.S team must be respected and it is the responsibility of all members to demonstrate a professional and polite attitude. All investigation sites must be left as we found them, with rubbish disposed of properly.
This ensures we will be able to return in the future if required to do another investigation.

Trainee team members and the GPS investigators maintain regular close contact through skype. When joining please make sure you have this programme available on your computer. This allows for discussions about new locations and planning, plus discussion of the results from the investigations to happen easily,

The directors have the right to refuse full investigator status to any trainee should they fail to attend two training investigations in succession, unless the team were informed of the non attendance at least 24hrs before. GPS also have the final say in assessing how many training investigations you will need to attend. If you break the no alcohol and no illegal drugs rule on any investigation, or you bring the good and professional name of G.P.S into disrepute you will be removed from the team with immediate effect.

The next two scheduled investigations will include time for the trainees to participate and learn,

Stockwell Spiritualist church (Saturday 9th August 7pm) – Trainees are asked to arrive promptly for the introductory demonstration and talk being given by the G.P.S team about the equipment. Following this the trainees will get involved in the investigation for the rest of the night. We will be working with students of the development circles during our investigation.

Hellfire caves (29th of August) – Arrive at the cave to meet up with the other trainees (You will be informed of whom prior to the meet) then travel to the top of the hill by 9pm. You will do a mini investigation of the church yard, doing 2 EVPs each, along with taking no more than 50 photographs. Arrive back at the caves by no later than 10pm, for welcome by the GPS team. You will then be asked to go through the results from your mini investigation at the local pub, for refreshments (non alcoholic). When you arrive back at the caves for 12pm you can report your findings and reasons for them to the team. We do ask that you all stay together for safety reasons, both on investigations and prior to arriving back at the caves. Then you will be taking part in a lights out investigation of the caves, likely to finish no later than 3am.

Please indicate your availability for these investigations to Ecto by email ecto@ghostfinder.co.uk
