| well, a bit of a shame for this guy, but i hope he is able to carry on with his specialist field of work. - Quote :
- A paranormal ‘ghostbuster’ has had his case thrown out of court after claiming he was unfairly sacked from his police job.
A judge rejected Alan Power’s claim against Greater Manchester Police.
Mr Power was employed by the force to train special constables but was dismissed in October 2008 when his bosses learned he had tried to involve officers in his psychic research.
The force said he had been asked to leave after concerns were raised about his work with neighbouring forces. Managers said his interests in the psychic field were ‘not compatible’ with his employment at GMP.
Mr Power – who describes himself as a spiritual healer and psychic – sued the force alleging religious discrimination against his spiritualist faith.
But a Manchester employment tribunal rejected his case in December 2009, concluding it was not his beliefs that prompted his dismissal.
The decision was upheld by an Employment Appeals Tribunal. http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/s/1418083_police-ghostbusters-unfair-sacking-appeal-fails | |
